At the Loch of the Green Corrie

Andrew Greig

Sat 14th Aug, 8:00pm Onetouch Theatre, Eden Court Book Tickets SMS Reminder

Andrew Greig was asked by his friend Norman MacCaig shortly before his death 1996 to fish on his behalf in his favourite place on earth, the Loch of the Green Corrie in Assynt, Sutherland. ‘If you succeed, I shall be delighted. If you fail, then looking down from a place in which I do not believe, I shall be most amused.’ That trip has developed into a haunting tale of friendship, fishing, memoir, love, loss, Scotland and whisky in At the Loch of the Green Corrie.

Andrew is an award winning poet and novelist. His first poetry book White Boats won an Eric Gregory award and his novel In Another Light won the 2004 Saltire Society Scottish book of the year. Many of his other works have been shortlisted for prizes and he is perhaps as well known for his non fiction books on mountaineering and golf (Summit Fever and Preferred Lies) as he is for novels such Electric Brae and The Return of John MacNab. Andrew is married to novelist Lesley Glaister and lives in Orkney and Edinburgh.

Andrew really enjoys the opportunity to read his books aloud and discuss them with his readers. He will read from At the Loch of the Green Corrie and answer any questions from the audience.
